Growing Up!

Walker is growing up - he will be three in September - still far away, but the way time flies it will be here soon.  He is such a sweet boy and we love watching him grow in all areas of his life.  He is figuring things out, asking a million questions, having full conversations with us (a car ride or walk is never quiet), playing independently, and playing well with friends, helping, following commands, and on a mission to do all things by himself.  He has a happy disposition and a tender heart.  He says the sweetest prayers, sings songs, counts, and says his ABCs over and over.  He is equal parts laid back and rowdy.  He will watch TV shows.  He loves to sit down and do puzzles, cut with his scissors, color, play ball, run around, and play with his trucks.  He says the funniest things and I wish every day that I could constantly record our conversations.   This spring and early summer, we have realized how much he is growing - physically and mentally.  Here is a look back at some "growing up" moments:

Week of the Young Child parade and ice cream social at preschool.

Strawberry picking all by himself

LOVES helping daddy in the yard.  Knows every tool and way to use it.

First haircut.

Just as much as he loves helping daddy outside, he loves helping mommy inside.  Walker enjoys helping me cook and bake and even doing the dishes.  This is such a fun time for us to bond and it makes me so happy!  Some wife is going to thank me ;)

Last day of preschool.  Walker is so happy when he has school - he talks non-stop about the activities and time with his friends.  So thankful he enjoys the time at preschool.

First time on the courts (with a raquetball racket - we need to get a junior racket).  He wanted to do it "all by myself".  So it made for an interesting time.  Mommy and daddy enjoyed playing a {brief} game of tennis though!

Happy in the garden - digging, watering, watching things grow...and finally picking a tomato!

What a fun stage!  Walker we love you so much!!!
